A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital after a car collision near a petrol station.

The boy described as being in his early teens was on his bicycle in Bromwich Road near the Texaco garage when he was involved in a collision with a Citroen C3 car at about 7.20am, on Friday, January 23.

Two ambulances from West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust rushed to the scene while the road was temporarily shut by the police.

The youngster was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries while the road was reopened shortly afterwards.

John Hawker, ambulance service spokesman, said: “The caller reported a male on a bicycle in his early teens being involved in an accident.”

A police spokeswoman said the boy had been taken to hospital with “non-life threatening injuries” where he remained under observation.
