THE claret and blue memories came flooding back to me watching this new DVD.

Having been a fan since I was a young boy in the 1980s, I've lived through the good and bad times at Aston Villa but the ones on the DVD are certainly worth a second viewing.

Ten of the club's greatest goals, comebacks and performances from the last decade are chronicled in 90 minutes of action.

Each contest is condensed into nearly ten minutes of highlights with each match featuring an on-screen graphic with both teams, who got booked and other useful statistics to help jog the memory.

One match is taken from each season starting with Villa's 4-2 in at Spurs in April 2000 after being two goals down, through to Villa's first victory at Arsenal in 15 years last November.

Watching the DVD not only lets you see how the club has evolved for the better over this period but also reminds you of some of the great players Villa have had even in the times when the club was under-performing.

Villa's 5-1 win over arch-rivals Birmingham City in April last year will be a match featured that all fans will love to watch back.

The DVD is very well-organised and certainly succeeds in picking the best matches from each season. The length of each matches' highlights package is just the right amount as well.

As Villa gear up for an nerve-wracking push for a Champions League place over the next few weeks, it was nice to see some enjoyable blasts from the past on this excellent new DVD, a must-see for all Villa fans.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Match of the Millennium.

MEANWHILE, in the heart of the Black Country, the series continues with the last nine years featured of what have also been a rollercoaster ride of emotions for fans of Wolves.

Following exactly the same format as the Villa version, the Wolves model displays highlights of wins over a variety of sides, from Gillingham to Manchester United.

Despite featuring comprehensive 4-0 and 6-0 wins it will be the 1-0 victory over Manchester United in their only Premier League season so far in January 2004 that will grabs the viewers' attention first.

This too is a 90-minute treat for all fans of the famous old club who are going for promotion glory to the top-flight this season.

It features goals from fans' favourites including Mark Kennedy and Paul Ince and goes right up to the 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest, which kick-started their current impressive campaign.

The days of star striker Steve Bull may have been coming to an end as the century got started but watch as new heroes were created.

Both DVDs are available at all good stores including Amazon, Play.com and HMV later this month.
