CHILDREN got creative and made Easter garden displays at a school in Worcester.

Pupils in Fairfield Community Primary School’s year four class took part in the project, which fitted in with the school’s curriculum.

Sharon Beck, higher level teaching assistant, said: “They made them at home and were very excited about it. They were talking about it and saying ‘I’ve got this on mine’.

“Most of the class participated and bought one in. They loved it.”

Mrs Beck said prizes presented to the winners included a garden trowel and spade, as well as a flower pot and carrot seeds.

She said children at the school, which has been given healthy schools status, have already been growing vegetables and fruit and that this exercise fitted in with themes being taught as part of religious education, such as Easter and new beginnings.
