NATIONAL charity Leukaemia CARE has appointed Worcester’s Concept Advertising and Public Relations as its PR agency.

With the aim of raising the charity’s profile in its 40th year, Concept will undertake a comprehensive programme of PR, including national distribution of press releases featuring the charity’s many fund-raising activities.

Gemma Harris, PR and marketing officer for the charity, which is based in Blackpole, Worcester, said: “Because our team is mainly focused on the charity’s twin aims of directly helping patients and their families and then funding this support; it is often difficult to find time to get our stories out, despite them being about inspiring people.

“It is increasingly important to raise the profile of our valuable CARE Line and our cancer campaigning, all of which are currently wholly financed by public donations. We do not tend to advertise our services and so to ensure that our campaigns reach people in a creative, imaginative way we use public relations.

“We chose Concept because of their can-do attitude and they have certainly been getting the job done since we starting working with them.

“I’m impressed at how fast and energetic they’ve been.

“We have high hopes that together we’ll be able to reach even more patients, carers and fund-raisers; which at the end of the day, is what we are all about.”

Concept’s PR manager Jo Wright added: “All of our clients expect value for money in their investment in marketing and PR but none more so than a small charity whose budget is so precious.

“We’ve achieved national coverage on a tight budget and this is only possible because of the knowledge and time efficiencies that an experienced PR team can offer.”
