A KEEN cyclist will be putting his pedal power to the test when he tackles the London to Paris bike ride in aid of a Worcester hospice.

Paul Hutton, who lives near Great Witley, just outside Worcester, will set off with a team of cyclists on Thursday, July 9, and plans to complete the 100-mile (160km) challenge in three days to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice.

The 34-year-old business consultant said: “I am slowly building up to the longer distances and I hope the pain of riding up the hills locally will pay off on the flat route to Paris. I wanted to support St Richard’s as an excellent local charity. The work hospices do and the cost of doing it should get greater recognition and support.”

Your Worcester News has teamed up with the Wildwood Drive hospice to help raise its running costs on its 25th anniversary.
