DUE to some very muddy patches on the proposed walk around Tedstone Delamere, the leaders Dot and Chris Fletcher had a change of venue for the June walk.
The alternative route around Knightwick and Ankerdine Hill was delightful and provided some shady woodland walking on a hot afternoon. Several lots of cattle would have been happy to join us.
Fairly steep climbs from Knightwick Bridge took us across the B4197 to see some wonderful views across the Worcester basin.
Part of the walk followed the Worcestershire Way and the new Geopark Way.
Walking through the strangely named Nipple Wood, rocks that were formed some 250 and 400 million years ago were passed.
Ramblers could not realise what it could of been like when this area was on the margin of a shallow sea.
It was a most interesting walk, with thanks to Dot and Chris.
