SYLVIA, our president, welcomed 17 members and one new visitor.
Judy, our vice president, read the minutes. Sylvia then discussed our future events – a visit to the memorial arboretum on June 24, a visit to the revamped Swan Theatre on July 9, and lunch at the King’s Arms, Sidbury, on July 16.
We are having a stand at Ghelevelt Park on Saturday, September 19, and would like volunteers to help to raise money to sell all donations collected for this event and promote our group.
Our member Gladys runs an extend fitness class and came to give us a lesson, which was most enjoyable. We then had our raffle and our new visitor won a prize.
Judy and I spoke of our eventful day trip to the annual general meeting at the Albert Hall on June 3. It started at 4pm with 53 ladies on board at 6am, we got under way, there was a terrible accident and we didn’t get there until 11.45am, a great shame. We then had refreshments.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday, July 8, 10am to noon. Mrs Mort and Mrs Blackburn with pressed flowers.
