A DRIVER involved in two car crashes is believed to have been taken ill at the wheel.

The man was driving a blue Mitsubishi Carisma saloon along Church Road, in Malvern, at about 11.29am today when he was involved in a shunt with a parked trailer.

A member of the public called the police, when a short while later the same car was involved in a crash with a blue Peugeot 306 estate and a black Citroen C3 in Newtown Road.

The road was partially blocked by the accident near Blackmore Road and Queen’s Road but has since been cleared.

An ambulance took the driver of the Mitsubishi to A&E at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Nobody else was injured.

“He was hospitalised after it is believed he was taken ill at the wheel,” said a police spokesman.

He added the police were now looking for witnesses to both accidents.

Anyone who saw the crashes should call police on 0300 333 3000 quoting either reference number 303S/010709 (for the Newtown Road collision) or 301S/010709 (for the earlier Church Road crash).
