A TEENAGE girl from Worcester has been sent to a young offenders institution after trying to supply heroin and cocaine in the city.

Aimie Baker, aged 19, admitted two counts of possession with intent to supply when she appeared at Worcester Crown Court.

Paul Whitfield, prosecuting, said the incident took place at about 11pm on Monday, October 27, last year in Foregate Street and then showed video evidence from CCTV footage.

The video showed Baker approaching people and handing cards to them and she was associating with other drug users.

Police became suspicious and were called to St Martin’s Gate car park where they found 13 wraps of heroin and nine deals of crack cocaine.

Mr Whitfield said: “At the time she said she was a recovering heroin addict. She does not have convictions for any offences of a similar nature.”

Jason Taylor, defending, said Baker, of Liverpool Road, Ronkswood, had fallen into the company of a drugs dealer called Harold Blackstock, who was now in jail, and she had become his accomplice after visiting him in Birmingham.

He said: “She now wants to put this behind her, is clean of drugs and wants to go to Worcester university.”

They called her grandfather to the dock who said she was working to turn her life around.

Throughout the hearing Baker wept.

Judge Juckes QC passed an 18-month sentence and said: “Drug dealing of this sort is the heart of the source of the crime that we see day in and day out in these courts.”
