PLANS for houses to be built on derelict land will be drawn up by Worcester City Council.

The move comes after the city council failed to secure a deal with Worcester Community Housing for the development of affordable housing.

The former garage site in Liverpool Road, Ronkswood, Worcester, is owned by the city council and is surplus to its requirements.

Over the years it has been blighted by recurring fly tipping and has become a popular site with travellers.

Once the plans for two homes are drawn up the land will be sold with outline planning permission.

The decision to draw up plans was agreed at the city council’s cabinet meeting.
