MEMBERS of Worcester Snoezelen Project, a place for people with multi-sensory disabilities, were given a sneak preview of song and dance routines from WODS’ forthcoming production Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Cast members of Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society visited the centre in Turnpike Close to perform to its new drama group Rainbow, which has been set up to enable people with physical and learning disabilities to express themselves creatively.

In addition to the performances, there was also an opportunity for members of the Snoezelen’s Rainbow drama group to learn some dance moves and perform them with the cast. Jane Campbell, Snoezelen manager, said “This has been fantastic. It is only the second time our drama club has met and it may motivate some of our thespians to want to sing and dance the way that WODS do.”

WODS are donating money raised from the sale of raffle tickets at their production of Thoroughly Modern Millie to Worcester Snoezelen, who provide people who have sensory and learning disabilities with appropriate relaxation and leisure facilities.

Thoroughly Modern Millie runs at the Swan Theatre, Worcester, from Tuesday, October 27, until Saturday, October 31. Tickets are £12-14 and can be bought from Worcester Live Box Office, Huntingdon Hall, on 01905 611427.
