A DAREDEVIL former soldier took part in a skydive to raise more than £600 to help people with arthritis, a disease that affects his mother and sister.

Stonemason Tom Adams, of Blackpole, Worcester, jumped out of an aeroplane at 12,000 feet at Hinton Skydiving Centre in Brackley, Northamptonshire, raising £661 for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS).

His sister, Donna Saunders, of Colin Road, Northwick, and mum, Pam, have the disease and 28-year-old Mr Adams, a former soldier in the Queen’s Royal Hussars who has completed two tours in Iraq, wants to do bungee jumps and the Tough Guy challenge in future to raise more money for the charity.

His sister, Donna, said: “Tom thoroughly enjoyed it and aims to continue with more daredevil stunts in the future. NRAS is the only patient-led charity in the UK specifically for people with rheumatoid arthritis, their families and carers. They provide support, information and advocacy. A big thank you to everyone who sponsored Tom.”
