A MALVERN company that made a successful pitch on the Dragons’ Den television show last year is to appear in the spin-off programme Dragon’s Den on Tour.

Planit Products of Enigma Business Park secured a £200,000 investment in July last year from Dragon James Caan for its portfolio of items, which includes the toastabag – a re-usable bag that can be slotted into an electric toaster to make a toasted sandwich.

Now it features on the new show, which is designed to give updates on people a year or so on after appearing in the Den, allowing the viewer to see if they have failed, succeeded or heeded the Dragons’ advice.

Planit director Caroline Kavanagh said of her time in the Den: “It was a very scary experience, but the kudos of having two Dragons making an offer as well as the publicity from appearing on the show was fantastic.” Guy Unwin, the firm’s managing director and inventor, added: “Since being on the show, business has gone from strength to strength.”

As well as the toastabag, Planit’s products include stick cookasheets, pizzamesh, quickachips, oven liners, oven shelfguard and many more. See the follow-up Dragons’ Den on Tour on BBC 2 tomorrow night.
