A MUSICAL inspired by children who were evacuated during the Second World War is coming to Worcester.

Dancing in My Dreams will be performed at the University of Worcester studio theatre on Saturday.

The show, which promises to transport the audience back to wartime Britain, tells the story of a young Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire fan who is forced to swap her life in London for the countryside as the Luftwaffe rains bombs on the capital.

It is the latest production in the popular Shindig series which brings top drama, professional musicians and award-winning artists to community and rural venues across the county.

Highlights this season include rare performances by a Sudanese band called Rango, which will be celebrating Black History Month, and groundbreaking Cuban band Asere.
