A WORCESTER man who got aggressive after police knocked on the wrong door has been fined.

Alan Cook started swearing at the officer when he realised the police had got the wrong address.

The 58-year-old told the officer he needed to talk to people in the flat upstairs and slammed the door on him.

But Cook later came outside and continued to shout at the policeman.

After several warnings he was arrested, but before the officer could handcuff unemployed Cook he started to struggle.

Cook, of Teme Road, Tolladine, Worcester, admitted the public order offence and resisting a police officer when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Barry Newton, defending, said: “The flat above is occupied to people well known to the authorities which has annoyed Mr Cook as there have been all sorts of comings and goings.

“The officer came to the wrong door but that does not excuse the bad language he used.”

Cook was fined a total of £100 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
