THE sudden closure of a Worcester post office has confused customers.
The St John’s Post Office, in King Charles Place, St John’s, Worcester, is due to reopen this afternoon, but had been unexpectedly closed since yesterday morning.
A spokesman for Post Office Ltd said: “The St John's branch has been sold by the current owner and was due to transfer to the new owner from today. Unfortunately due to some last minute difficulties the transfer has been delayed.
“The branch will reopen this afternoon but unfortunately with only a skeleton staff - we are doing everything possible to restore normal service as quickly as possible and would like to apologise for the inconvenience.”
A note in the window of the store reads: ‘Matthew and his family would like to thank all our customers for their loyalty and support they have shown over the last 4 years’.
