A SHOCKING new advert hopes to emphasise potential fire risks in the home this winter and Christmas.

The advert – which shows an overloaded plug catching fire and then setting a Christmas tree ablaze – was produced for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s ‘Good Feeling Gone’ campaign.

The campaign wants to remind people of the simple steps they can take to prevent fire in the home, such as not overloading plug sockets, putting candles out before going to bed or leaving the room or simply not leaving cooking unattended.

Launa Walker, the service’s community safety manager, said: “Christmas is a time for celebration and over the coming months our community safety team will be visiting shopping areas across both counties to provide free home safety advice."
