A DRUNK woman tried to crawl past bouncers when they refused to let her into a Worcester nightclub, a court was told.

Holly Magill admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour in a public place at Worcester Magistrates Court after she struggled with doorstaff outside the Velvet Lounge in Angel Place when they denied her entry to the club.

The court was told how police saw 32-year-old Magill of Back Lane South, off The Tything, Worcester, struggling with door staff on CCTV and came to assist during the incident at 2.30am on Friday, November 13.

Sarah Stock, prosecuting, said: “She was trying to gain entry and refused to leave. Officers found her on the floor. She was attempting to crawl into the nightclub and swore, saying ‘Let me in’. She continued to shout and swear and was clearly very drunk. She shouted ‘Get off me you pigs, you barbarians’.” During the course of the struggle she kicked out at an officer but no injury was reported, Mrs Stock said.

District judge Bruce Morgan asked: “What do you have to say about this appalling behaviour and this filthy language?”

Unemployed Magill, who represented herself, said: “I don’t have anything to say.”

But Magill then went on to say she had been off work for depression and anxiety following a serious assault. Mr Morgan, who mentioned Magill had a previous conviction for drunk and disorderly, said: “Do you have a drink problem?” She replied: “No, I don’t.”

Mr Morgan asked her why she took out her frustration on the police and doorstaff. She said: “I’m very sorry.” Magill was fined £100, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
