MORE than 400 guests enjoyed the popular St Richard’s Hospice Ladies Christmas Lunch at Worcester Rugby Club.

The guests enjoyed a three-course Christmas lunch before listening to guest speaker, Fiona Castle, campaigner and widow of the late television presenter Roy Castle.

Marilyn Peachey, St Richard’s Hospice director of fund-raising, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people coming together for the event and really enjoying themselves. Fiona was an inspiring speaker and we are very grateful to her for donating her time to speak.”

She added: “I would also like to thank our patron Sonia Woolven and all those who volunteers who helped her organise the event so magnificently.”

This year St Richard’s Hospice is celebrating its silver anniversary marking 25 years of providing free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supporting their families.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 2,000 patients and family members in Worcestershire.
