A TOP Tory MP will see how a farm near Worcester helps disadvantaged children and drug users.

Francis Maude MP - shadow chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, who will be responsible for preparing the Conservatives’ implementation of its manifesto if the party wins the next general election, will visit Care Farming West Midlands at Top Barn Farm, Holt Heath.

Care Farming West Midlands is a social enterprise that has been set up for children with special needs, pupils from referral units, and drug users on probation.

Mr Maude will meet those involved in the project as well as senior county councillors during Thursday’s visit.

Harriett Baldwin, prospective parliamentary candidate for West Worcestershire, who organised the visit, said: “I am keen to publicise the fantastic work of local care farms as they transform lives of some of the most disadvantaged local people for the better.”
