VILLAGERS in Worcestershire have managed to raise more than £1,100 for the county’s Breast Unit Campaign.

People from Leigh gathered at Leigh Court on Sunday, December 13, and enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine and raised £1,118.

Ann Sharp, who organised the event, said: “It was a very happy evening and my grateful thanks are due once again to Vicki and Mark Advani for allowing us to use their lovely home, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

“Thanks also go to Carol and Tom Morris-Jones for all their help backstage, Christine and Granville Orange for running the lucky draw.

“And I mustn’t forget my husband, John, for his continued support and encouragement in my fund-raising activities for Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.”

Your Worcester News is supporting the campaign to raise £2.5 million for the new dedicated breast unit, which will cut waiting times in half and improve the level of service.

We reported on Monday’s front page how campaigners are celebrating after reaching the £250,000 milestone in their efforts.

If you would like to make a donation to the campaign, send a cheque, made payable to Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign to Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign, Charles Hastings Education Centre, Charles Hastings Way, Worcester, WR5 1DD.
