WORCESTER has its very own Glee club, giving local people a chance to take to the stage and be part of a community choir with a difference.

First established in Britain but now far more popular in America, Glee clubs are musical groups that perform feel-good versions of popular songs.

The Glee Club meets at the Lyppard Grange Community Centre in Warndon Villages every Monday night.

Choir leader Helen Russell said: “We sing all sorts – jazz, gospel and chart music – and it’s so much fun. I wasn’t expecting it to be such a success, but it’s working really well.”

The Glee Club will perform a spring concert at the Lyppard Grange Community Centre at 2pm tomorrow. Tickets are £3 and £2 for children under seven. For details, call 01905 747827.
