SUPERSTAR animals have been wowing the London celebrity set at a fashion launch party.

Stella McCartney and Kate Moss were among the glitterati petting rabbits, skunks and a sleepy ferret thanks to a Droitwich firm run by Joanne Hazeldine.

Mrs Hazeldine’s company Animal Woman, which she set up four years ago, was at West London’s Porchester Hall for a party thrown by Stella McCartney. The designer was launching a kid’s range for the Gap High Street store earlier this month.

Mrs Hazeldine, who also gives educational talks on furry animals in schools, said it wasn’t the first star-studded bash she’d been asked to attend.

“I’ve done a few,” she said. “I had a call to say Stella McCartney had asked for me to come and do this launch party personally, so I immediately said yes – no arm-twisting was needed. She’d invited about 50 of her friends along and all of the kids.”

The 39-year-old businesswoman took along Melody the Angorra rabbit who was pictured in the national newspapers being petted by Kate Moss, as well as a rescue ferret, a skunk, giant rabbits and some creepy crawlies.

Stella’s sister, photographer Mary McCartney, was doing children’s portraits, Texas lead singer Sharleen Spiteri dropped by and there was a coconut-shy and face painting.

“Everybody liked Sara, my skunk, but Sue my rescue ferret had only been picked up about a week before – she just fell asleep on everybody’s lap.

“And everybody wanted to get in the pen with the giant rabbits.” Mrs Hazeldine and her animals will be at Just For Pets in Queen Street, Droitwich, from 1pm-5pm on Saturday, April 24.
