ARTISTS from Bredon Hill villages have for the first time joined in the Cheltenham Artists Open Houses.

In addition to the regular professionals such as Toff Milway at Conderton, Tony Davies, Bredon, both potters with established retail outlets, Samantha Dadd with her gallery in Conderton and Beckford Silk, a wealth of extra-ordinarily high quality local talent has emerged. Faith Hallett, of Overbury, an art/agent dealer for a senior Royal Academician and a well-known sculptor whose portrait of Paul Getty was commissioned by the National Gallery, said: "These are very proper artists, all hailing within a shouting distance from each other." The Artists' Open Houses continues until Sunday. Opening hours vary but everyone is open at some stage every day with the opportunity to buy original work at very reasonable prices compared with what would be charged in a gallery.
