BURMA STAR ASSOCIATION: Members, wives and widows of the Evesham and District branch of the Burma Star Association celebrated the 44th anniversary of the branch with a lunch at the Bridge Inn and Ferry at Offenham last Wednesday. Thirty-seven people attended and among the guests were Jeff King, chairman of the Evesham branch Royal British Legion, and Ken Holland, chairman of the Evesham branch of the Royal Air Forces Association. A raffle during the afternoon raised £57.

MOVIE MAKERS' CLUB: Eleven members attended the first meeting of the new season. Subscriptions were paid and a prospective new member was welcomed.

Arrangements to make the new club film were discussed. This is in the hands of Phil Davis, who brought in the new script with ideas of how he would like to shoot it.

It was proposed to hold a special meeting to thrash out the finer points and to allot duties.

A discussion took place on the proposed rule changes for the Glos Trophy Competition. The amendments were voted on and Brian Bambury, secretary and Graham Corbett, chairman will present these at the next meeting of the competition committee on June 24.

Following the showing of the last four club films the various competition judges' comments were read out and in turn these were discussed. Each film in its turn was both praised and slated for its entertainment and technical abilities. The conclusion, just do your best and enjoy it.

Finally Rob Nichols showed members the first film that he had just made. It comprised of still photos, transitions and a narration.
