FOLLOWING A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Hereford Amateur Operatic Society (HAOS) is busy preparing for its next production, the now annual Memory Lane concerts, to be performed at the clubhouse on Whitecross Road, Hereford, from June 22-25, and at Stretton Sugwas Village Hall on July 1.
The concerts, directed by Colette Hinksman and Jenni Axtell, aim to take the audience on a world tour, presenting a range of musical styles and culturals.
The shows will draw on well-known shows like Cabaret and Evita but, in contrast, will also include a Maori song and the gospel number 'Ain't it good?
Betty Coles, who has recently received her Gold Bar Award for services to the society, can be heard performing Edith Piaff's classic Je Ne Regret Rien in a whistle stop tour of France (including songs from Les Miserables, Moulin Rouge and La Cage Aux Folles), thereby marking 50 years on stage with HAOS.
