IT was a pity the current popularity of the likes of TV's Colin Fry and Derek Acorah did not prompt more people to visit Bromsgrove's Artrix on Saturday for The Night of the Mediums.

As it was, only around 50, mostly women, turned up to see and hear top psychics Angela McGhee and Marilyn Gail receive messages from dear departed on the other side.

Walsall-based Angela has been communicating with the spirit world for over 40 years.

As a child she was naturally reluctant to tell anyone about her imaginary friends and visits from dead relatives, but eventually was forced to admit she had inherited the gift from her grandmother.

Now she travels the world bringing comfort and reassurance to hundreds of people, has appeared on TV and made a film. She has also played a vital role in helping police with murder investigations.

She is much in demand to rid homes of troublesome spirits.

Marilyn, who appears on the new cable TV programme Light Force is a psychic in addition to being a medium.

Judging from the reaction and comments of those fortunate to have had a visit on Saturday, the information given was generally good although some admitted it was too 'vague.'

One of the chief criticism however, was that the evening proper, that is want people paid to see and hear, did not get underway for 50 minutes after the appointed time.

This was mainly due to the unnecessary and rather strange 'operatic' performance of host Martin Milnes.
