OLDER PEOPLE'S FORUM: The Evesham and District Older People's Forum is holding its next general meeting at Wallace House, Oat Street, at 2pm on Tuesday, June 14. All members and non members welcome.

ART SOCIETY: At the May meeting, members and guests were introduced to the techniques of framing pictures by Lee Tandy of the Lion Framing Company. All the methods of framing watercolours and pastels were explained and samples of frame mouldings shown to an appreciative audience.

The recent exhibition of paintings held at Broadway over the Bank Holiday weekend was a great success. More than 300 visitors viewed the paintings over the three days and members received many compliments on the variety of subjects and on the quality of work. The best picture competition, voted for by the visitors, was won by Mrs Ricki Evans with a painting entitled Hills at Sunset.

The next meeting of the society will be on Wednesday when Mariana Robinson will give a demonstration on watercolour painting.

Evesham Art Society meets at the Friends Meeting House, Cowl Street, Evesham at 7.15pm for 7.30pm. New members and guests welcome, entrance £2.

Mayor's Diary: FRIDAY: Noon, Mayor and Consort to formally open Jubilee Garden and Sculpture Park at Evesham High School.

SATURDAY: Noon, Mayor and Consort to attend Historic Festival of Balloons, Boats and Cars. They will ride on car and boat then, after lunch, at 2pm ride on tethered hot air balloon.

SUNDAY: 2.15pm, Mayor and Consort to attend Evesham's Annual Pilgrimage at St Mary's Church.

MONDAY: 6.30pm, Town Council Meeting, Town Hall.
