GARDENING CLUB: The May meeting was held on Thursday, May 26 at 7.30pm at Wulstan Hall. The speaker was Vic Aspland, chairman of the horticultural committee at Birmingham Botanical Gardens and a regular contributor to the Alpine Garden Society Journal. He travels widely in the European mountains to study and photograph alpines. His talk The History of Rock Gardens, which was illustrated with slides and began in the 19th century when the concept was a garden consisting simply of rocks. These ideas and gardens slowly evolved to include plants and become alpine gardens, which included pictures of some ingenious designs created by determined alpine lovers.

The next meeting is on Thursday, June 30 at 7.30pm in Wulstan Hall and Edward Wilson will talk about Pershore Penstemons. Visitors and new members welcome.
