WW2 60TH ANNIVERSARY CHURCH SERVICE: On Sunday, the Rector, the Rev David Vince, is holding a special service in St Peter's Church at 3pm to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The service will focus on the triumph of peace, to celebrate that peace, and for all to pray for peace to continue. All are welcome at the service.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The next visit to the village of the mobile library will be on May 15, calling at Colin Close at 2.40pm and the Bell Inn at 3.05pm.

MOBILE POLICE STATION: The Mobile Police Station, accompanied by the Cotswold District Council Advice Unit, will next visit the village on Thursday, May 19, at 9.45am. For calls other than 999 please phone 0845 090 1234.

VILLAGE SCHOOL: The recently held Beetle Drive, held by the Friends of Willersey School, raised £139. A fund-raising cake sale will be held tomorrow at 3pm.

MUNCH BUNCH LUNCH: This month's lunch will be held at the Methodist schoolroom at 12.30pm on Wednesday, May 18. Inquiries to Elizabeth Ingles on 853400.

WEDNESDAY CLUB: At last week's meeting members heard a talk, accompanied by pictures, on the History of Old Evesham given by Mr Heath of the Almonry Museum. On May 18 members are visiting the National Trust property at Baddesley Clinton.

FOOTLIGHTS FOLLIES: Arrangements are well in hand for the show to be presented by Willersey Footlights in a marquee at the village hall on Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21. Doors open at 7pm and curtain up at 8pm. The programme will include items of Wartime Memories as well as a variety of more recent flavour. Tickets are now on sale at Willersey and Broadway post offices and early booking is advised.

SNOOKER CLUB: The annual prize giving and social evening will be held at the clubroom at the village hall at 7.30pm on Friday, May 27.

BLOOD DONORS: The next session in the village will be on Monday, May 23 at the village hall.

COFFEE MORNING: As a result of the coffee morning held last week in the village hall in aid of Footlights funds more than £500 was raised.
