THE stars of badminton, fresh from a superb Olympic games in Athens, where Great Britain enjoyed their first finalists, Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms, are expected in Birmingham to take part in the Yonex All England Open Championships.

The world's greatest and most prestigious badminton grand prix tournament takes place at The NIA in Birmingham from Wednesday, March 9 to Sunday, March 13.

The Shuttle/Times and News has teamed up with the organisers to run a competition where 15 readers can each win a pair of tickets to the finals on March 13.

The Great Britain team exceeded expectations in Athens after reaching their first final and bringing back a silver medal.

Tracey Hallam also managed one of the upsets of the tournament in beating former world champion Camilla Martin of Denmark to reach the quarter-finals.

Nathan and Gail have also kept up their rich vein of form by reaching the Danish Open final. This success provides a wonderful platform to build on as the greatest players in the world gather once again in Birmingham.

Bumper crowds are expected at The Yonex All England Open, which will also serve as a crucial qualifying tournament for the world championships set to take place in Anaheim, USA in August.

Qualifying points are vital as the world championships will be limited to the top 64 of the world rankings in each event.
