WITH reference to the article (the cyclist branded arrogant) by Sir Michael Spicer, I must agree with him.

I spend, due to my job, a lot of time driving in and out of Evesham and the amount of time I see cyclist's cycling on the pavements without due care to pedestrians, and this is not just once, but every day of the week. This I have found is not all children and teenagers, but adults as well, also the riding of cycles without lights during the dark winter months. We once had cycling proficiency tests, this was arranged with the local police, and the school authorities, to teach the pupil the highway code and road sense.

Mr Roger Goffen, reckons pedestrians are more likely to be hit by a motorised vehicle than a bicycle, motorised vehicles don't drive on the pavement Mr Goffen. Even if it is a young and inexperienced cyclist, the law states you do not ride on the pavement.

MR J WHITE, Linden Close, Evesham.
