WHILE you may have noticed the pink signs which appeared around the county like a plague of measles last weekend you may not have yet ventured forth into the environs which artists beaver away in, producing work.

Herefordshire art week ends officially this Sunday, with some galleries extending their shows until later in the month, so you need to set to it.

Heed the impulse to pull over when you're whizzing along on the school or supermarket run - you never know, it may just change your day.

n The Full of Heart exhibition at Artistree gallery in Church Lane, Ledbury incorporates paintings, photography, ceramics, ironwork, textiles and mixed media by the Artistree co-operative.

Also included is an intriguing collection of 30 altered books by amateur and professional artists, a banquet of organic wood sculptures by Duncan White and vintage fabric finery by Wendy Ruddick.

The altered books have been posted from artist to artist over the past year, with each participant adding their own interpretation of the originators theme - which include seasons, angels and icons, music and sexual passion.

The gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday from 11am to 3pm.

n Bridget Drakeford is holding an art in the garden exhibition during this year's h.Art.

Following her recent exhibition and study trip to Japan she will be showing some of her new porcelain alongside painters Irene Sanderson, Christiane Kubrick and Katharina Kubrick Hobbs, blacksmith Jenny Pickford, jeweller Belinda Terry, furniture-makers Brian Maiden and Ben Hills, ceramicist Tim Rawlins and textile artist Katharine Guerrier.

Katharina Kubrick Hobbs will be resident for the week, painting a still life in the garden, daily from 10am to 5pm.

Her studio is in Fownhope, close by to one or two other h.Art exhibitors - including the vibrant work of Caroline Hands - and so makes a good destination.
