JUAN Martin is a celebrated virtuoso of the flamenco guitar who has been voted into the top three guitarists in the world by US magazine Guitar Player.
A native of Andalucia, where he still has a home in Malaga, he spends much time touring as well as in London where he has formed his own international company for the promotion of high quality flamenco coming direct from Andalucia.
Juan has recorded 14 albums in all, mostly as a composer, and he presently has four videos distributed by Warner Brothers which, despite their purity, are always among their best sellers.
His method book, El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra, is in its seventh print and has opened the complex art of the flamenco guitar to the whole world. The guide is assiduously studied from Moscow to Beijing to San Francisco and back to Spain, and has assured Juan Martin's name for posterity.
Proving that he can bring his Spanish sounds, and their intriguing Moorish roots, into a new musical era, Juan Martin recently became the first flamenco artist to record with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.Juan Martin will be at Huntingdon Hall, Worcester, on Thursday, January 19 at 8pm.
