STUDENTS on the Contact Course at Herefordshire College of Art and Design will give a performance next Tuesday at 2pm.

The students, who have learning difficulties, have been involved in a project aimed at integrating them with students throughout the college.

It involved four strands: a book of pen and ink drawings and poetry inspired by an integrated visit to Bristol Zoo; a short film exploring the issues around students with Downs Syndrome integrating within groups of able bodied students; the compilation of digital autobiographical shorts; and a dance production based on the themes of difference and acceptance. Costumes, props and scenery have been created by year one National Diploma students in Art and Design.

The whole project is showcased at the dance performance in Churchill House, which includes excerpts from the film and the digital shorts.

The book of drawings and poetry will also be for sale and those involved in the project will have the opportunity to talk about their experiences.
