LEGENDARY wit and humour will light up Malvern when king of comedy Ken Dodd comes to town.

The Ken Dodd Happiness Show is at the Malvern Theatres for two nights only and tickets are selling fast.

One of the UK's best-loved comedians, Ken hit the big time in 1965 and broke box office records with the longest-ever run at the London Palladium.

That decade also saw him enter into the Guinness Book of Records for the longest joke-telling session ever with 1,500 jokes in three-and-a-half hours. People were queuing up at the theatre in Liverpool, and going inside in relays to hear him.

Sometimes mixing his comedy with music he has had many hit records, charting in the UK Top 40 on 19 occasions. His hit songs include Tears, Love is Like a Violin and his now famous theme tune Happiness.

He has also worked extensively in radio and television with popular productions including The Ken Dodd Show, Doddy's Music Box, and of course, Ken Dodd and the Diddymen.

The Happiness show will be at the Festival Theatre on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, 15, at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £17.50 are selling fast.
