1. Intrepid twosome Mike Daly and Mick Simpson at Torres Del Paine, Chile. They are riding from the planet's southern most habitable city navigable (by bike), Ushuaia in Argentina, South America, to the northern most navigable (by bike) point in Alaska, Prudhoe Bay, to raise money for the New Macmillan Renton Unit.

I4. Peter and Christine Dowsett, and members of Macmillan's Ross-on-Wye committee, held their first May Day event in Much Birch Community Hall. Home-made cakes, bric-a-brac, plants, raffle and more raised more than £2,000 towards the Macmillan Renton Unit.

5. A magnificent dozen brave souls from Bromyard left these shores on 50cc mopeds this summer and travelled to the classic Le Mans to raise money in aid of the Macmillan Renton Unit.

6. Macmillan's Hereford Fund-raising team, responsible for raising £1.5million for a new cancer unit at Hereford County Hospital, were introduced at the appeal's launch in June. Many pledges of support have already been received and events organised for the new Renton Cancer Unit.
