THE gripping adaptation of a popular children's book by Babe author Dick King-Smith is set to delight audiences at Malvern's Festival Theatre next week.

The Crowstarver will offer eight to 13-year-olds a chance to experience the work of a cast of five actors and two magicians bring the tale to life.

Set during the Second World War The Crowstarver tells the story of a little boy - Spider Sparrow - who was abandoned as a baby in a lambing pen with a note pinned to his shawl saying `please save this lamb'.

As the boy grows up people that see he is not like other children and he has an amazing way with animals.

The show runs from Wednesday, April 12, to Saturday, April 15.

MEN are desperately needed to take part in a musical show in Malvern.

Midland Musical Theatre Group, based in Worcester, needs more cast members for its next production - Celebrate the Season.

The group produces song and dance shows and will be presenting the show at Malvern Theatres from Tuesday, November 28, to Saturday, December 2.

Auditions will be held at Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Club, Droitwich Road, Worcester, on Sunday, April 9, from 10am.
