SHE has been compared to the likes of musical greats such as Aimee Mann and Carole King, and now songbird songstress Amy Wadge is paying a visit to Worcester for a gig.

The Bristol-born musician, who has been turning heads and receiving rave reviews ever since she burst onto the scene, has recently completed work on her second album, No Sudden Moves.

It comes hot on the heels of her relentlessly touring throughout the UK, France, Singapore and Australia, playing many of the major festivals. Fans can catch her at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Thursday, April 13 at 8pm. Tickets available from the box office on 01905 611427.

BANDS DO BATTLE

ANOTHER clutch of rock-star hopefuls will be taking to the stage in Worcester's Marr's Bar next week in a bid to be crowned musical champions.

Budding bands were invited to send in demos earlier in the year to be in with a chance of taking part in the venue's competition.

A total of 16 finalists were then selected by organisers and the final of four first-round heats will be taking place on Tuesday, April 11.

On Tuesday, the bands Alfa Zulu, Strange Machine, The Quiet Man and Medamaki are all set to play half-hour slots.

Tickets for Tuesday's Battle of the Bands night are £2 on the door.
