BARNARDS Green Sunday Seconds were entertained by Redditch on a breezy afternoon.

REDDITCH II v BARNARDS GREEN SUNDAY II

The Green's skipper Marek Wajzer chose to field and Scullion drew first blood, having Tange well caught by Tom Wells. Jamie Plant did well to keep the run rate down and the introduction of the well rested Jamie Longmore saw the useful Gley get frustrated, giving a catch to Rob Tyler. Watts was then caught and bowled by the impressive Dave Price, who also took a catch in the deep off Scullion. An impressive fielding and bowling display saw opener Walls finish on 99no after the 45 overs

With the Green chasing 229, openers Tyler and Plant were both unfortunate to play the ball onto their stumps. Simon Cooke (30) looked to be in fine form before being caught and bowled by the slow bowling of Watts.

Nick Rogers produced a sensible innings, well supported by captain Wajzer (19). Rogers brought up his half century with another fine four, before being bowled by Watts for 55. Watts claimed the potentially destructive Dave Price for a duck to finish with figures of 5-45 off his nine overs.

Bartlett (24) and Longmore entertained the crowd with some very quick runs as Redditch started to get concerned about the rate the Green were scoring at. Fifteen-year-old Adam Price finished on 8no, including a top quality shot for four.

Barnards Green finished on 189 all out and can feel their improving youthful side are due a change of fortunes in the near future.
