There were a large number of excursionists in Malvern on Monday, and the town was well patronised with weekend visitors, the principal hotels being fairly full. The weather was, on the whole, very favourable and holiday makers had no reason to complain on that score. The hills as usual proved a great attraction for hundreds of trippers and the Priory Church and Promenade Gardens were visited by large numbers in the course of the day. Malvern Gazette, June 16, 1905.

Ledbury Fire Brigade received a telegram on Monday afternoon to attend a fire at Temple Court, Bosbury. Within a few minutes of the ringing of the fire bell, the steamer was on its way to Bosbury. It was found, when the engine arrived, that the whole of the farm buildings were in flame. Ledbury Free Press, June 20, 1905.

In sharp contrast to the experience 12 months ago, fine sunny weather favoured the Three Counties Show, which this year was held at the beautiful Hindlip Park site, near Worcester, and the attendances were good - over 19,000 being recorded. Occupying a 50-acre site, the £4,000 show attracted a record number of entries and, being more accessible than the shows at Gloucester and Hereford, it proved more than ever an attraction to people in Evesham and the Vale. Malvern Gazette, June 17, 1955.

One of the happiest functions is the Ledbury Old People's Tea. The event had its origins in the Coronation Year, 1953, and its success encouraged the Coronation Catering Committee to continue to function each year since. There were 33 guests in the church room and ages ranged from 70 to 90. Ledbury Reporter, June 17, 1955.

The site of a derelict North Malvern pub - demolished last week after years of controversy about its future - might become a place where people walking along West Malvern Road can rest and view the north Worcestershire landscape. The end for the Redan came when Hereford & Worcester County Council sent in demolition contractors who levelled the building to the plateau on which it was built below the level of West Malvern Road. Malvern Gazette, June 19, 1980.

The suggestion that Ledbury may have to wait for at least two years for a new primary school has been met with extreme disappointment and anger by parents and teachers. The news broke last week that the county council might only be able to afford to continue its building programme in Redditch and Worcester in the next few years. Ledbury Reporter, June 19, 1980.
