KATHERINE Panton-Kent and Holly Wootten, who train at Manor Park Tennis Club, won the U11s girls' trophy on June 12 at the Malvern College tennis festival.
This is an annual event attended by prep schools from as far away as Northampton, London area and South Wales.
Holly and Katherine represented St Mary's Convent School, Worcester and, playing as a pair for the first time, displayed consistent and brilliant tennis which took them to a most exciting and extremely tense final.
They won the competition with a 9-7 victory in a match tie-break against the Manor Prep School, Abingdon, who had won the trophy for the previous six years.
