A PROMOTIONAL night will be held by Kidderminster Victoria on Monday to encourage both boys and girls to take part in cricket.

There will be displays by a number of the junior teams, including performances in the nets and fielding. Club coaches will also be available for prospective new members to gain advice.

During the season training and practice sessions for juniors takes place at Chester Road on Mondays from 6pm. Winter training is also provided.

The age range of children that the club will coach is seven to 17 and teams run from under 10s to under 16s, playing other teams around the county.

KVCC is particularly keen to encourage girls to participate in junior cricket and also has a separate girls team, although girls can play in mixed teams.

One of the current players, Fern Bagley has represented England ladies at junior level. Debbie Cahill a junior committee member has been actively encouraging girls' cricket at local schools and building links with them.

The club welcome any interested player, beginner or experienced, to attend any Monday evening or to the promotional night to see what the club has to offer.
