CHAMPAGNE was flowing as staff gave popular Pottery Plus manager, Rita Turner, a surprise presentation to mark her silver jubilee at the Kidderminster store.
Off-duty colleagues went in specially to celebrate her 25-year milestone in charge of the Swan Centre shop and owner, Roger Beaver, delighted her with theatre tickets to see Dancing in the Streets at the Birmingham Hippodrome and an overnight stay in a hotel for herself and a guest.
Miss Turner, of Drake Crescent, Habberley estate, said she was "totally surprised" by the gifts, which included champagne, chocolates and flowers from customers, as well as staff.
"I do enjoy working here. I have met some really lovely customers, who you can have a laugh with and they come back time and time again," she said.
Mr Beaver recalled that she was the first person to apply for the position when Pottery Plus opened its store in Kidderminster.
"I liked her so much I employed her immediately," he said.
