WOULD-be racing drivers can test their skills in the fast lane in a fund-raising model racing car challenge in aid of Kidderminster's Kemp Hospice this weekend.
The Slot Car Challenge, sponsored by Stourport shop, Model Craze, is being hosted by the Wheatsheaf pub at Whitbourne, near Worcester, on Sunday, with the first off the starting grid at 12.30pm.
Model Craze owner, Steve Tandy, suggested giving the proceeds to the hospice, which cares for people with life-limiting illnesses, and is donating a slot car as the prize for the fastest lap.
Drivers of all ages can have a go for 50p for 10 laps of a 70ft race track made from a combination of super-fast, super-grippy Ninco and Scalextric track.
