A RANGE of events is being planned in Cleobury Mortimer and Stottesdon to raise cash for Severn Hospice, kicking off with a live music festival later this month.
The festival, called Shifest, will take place on Saturday, June 25, and includes music from House of Alice, Pearshape Mollie, Dirty Sanchez and Splat, as well as blues singer, Jake.
Revellers will be able to try their hand at jousting and riding a bucking bronco, while food will be available in the form of a pig roast and burgers.
The event is one of many being organised by Stottesdon and Cleobury Mortimer Support Group in aid of Shropshire-based Severn Hospice, which provides care and support for sufferers of progressive illnesses, such as cancer, and their families.
The hospice, which runs day centres in Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury, Telford and Newtown and also has an outreach service to care for people in their own homes, needs £3 million per year to provide its services and receives just a third of this from the Government.
Other fund-raisers planned by Stottesdon and Cleobury Mortimer Support Group include a coffee morning at Castle Hill, Cleobury Mortimer, on Saturday, September 3, and a charity lunch at Cleobury North Village Hall on November 17.
