THE catfish record at Shatterford Fishery was broken again last week, on the coarse Erics Lake. The fish, which weighed in at 50lb 4oz, fell to a novice angler from Walsall on his first catfish session, using trout.

Catches of four carp to 16lb 8oz and 16 carp to 19lb 13oz were landed with boilies.

On the Gainsborough a 32lb catfish fell to trout, a 27lb catfish to boilie, and three carp to 18lb on worms.

Two catfish to 16lb and four carp to 11lb were taken on caster and worm on the Stuarts.

On the trout lakes, four trout to 3lb were taken with a hawthorn on the Stella last week and on the Wyre Dell, three trout to 4lb 8oz and a 12lb brown trout were caught by a Stratford angler using daddy long legs. Two trout to 3lb 8oz were taken on a black buzzer by an angler on his first session.

The previous week five trout to 2lb were caught on the Stella lake, including a 7lb brown trout on daddy long legs.

On the Wyre Dell, two trout to 1lb 8oz were caught with a black buzzer, and four trout to 2lb fell to a nymph.

On the coarse scene, a 42lb catfish was caught by an angler using trout on the Erics Pool, while a 27lb catfish was landed on boilies.

Two Bilston anglers landed five carp each, one to 17lb 10oz on sweetcorn, the other to 18lb on boilies.

The Gainsborough yielded catfish of 45lb and 46lb to trout, while one angler caught a 30lb catfish with meat and an 18lb grass carp with boilies. A 32lb catfish fell to a Dudley angler using boilies.

Good bags of bream are reported on the Stuarts, with carp to 16lb and catfish to 19lb caught with meat and worms.

The carp have at last finished spawning and are on the feed again
