AS president Denise Cashmore was on holiday, vice-president Leona Downey took the 76th birthday meeting.
Sadly, member Sheila Mason had passed away and there was a minute's silence.
Thanks were given to Hilary Hughes and Vivien Clifton who had made and iced the birthday cake.
St George's Day teas had been a great success with sandwiches, cakes and tea served in Alvechurch Village Hall by Alvechurch, Hopwood and Hillside WIs.
Pam Horsfield won the bursary for Denman College and Lillian Willis won the limerick competition.
Marion Canning, a toastmaster, gave a talk entitles An Unusual Job for a Lady.
The talk at the June meeting will be on patchwork and quilting by Sue Longhurst.
