AS a good friend of Councillor Rebecca Blake, the driving force behind the AIR concerts, I am not surprised to find all the usual names at the foot of letters condemning the AIR Festival in the park (Advertiser, June 8).
I applaud the effort Beccy and others put into the event and the pioneering approach the Labour group, with all-party support, showed in making this event happen.
It is sad the armchair critics and those with other motives now sit and pick faults after the event has happened.
Presumably, these people - who do little to better the town for others - would have said nothing had the event been a sell-out in the normal way.
They would probably have tried to steal some of the credit.
Well done Beccy, keep up the tremendous effort and enthusiasm you are giving to role of councillor, a title you do proud.
