TRIBUTES have been paid after a double tragedy in which a taxi driver and his passenger were killed in a horrific crash on the Coventry Highway on Sunday morning.
Clive Edwards, 26, and driver Zhaid Abbas, 30, were travelling towards Church Hill in a silver Peugeot 406 at about 12.30am when they were in collision with a green Jaguar XJ6.
Fire and ambulance crews had to cut Mr Edwards and Mr Abbas from the wreckage but they died at the scene.
Mr Abbas drove for family-run business Premier Taxis and lived with his family in Redditch town centre.
Shakeel Ahmed, of Premier Taxis, said: 'Zahid was a great man who was always so helpful and very well liked by all his customers.'
The Jaguar driver was arrested and released on bail while police inquiries continue.
Witnesses to the crash can call police on 08457 444 888.
